Assembly Cooking. Preparing meals does not have to be difficult. In fact, assembly cooking is a great way to approach meal time - and it doesn’t even have to include much cooking at all.

Step 1: Pick Your Protein - 1/4 of your plate - examples include:

  1. Hardboiled eggs

  2. Smoked salmon

  3. Nitrate-free turkey slices

  4. Tempeh slices

Step 2: Pick Your Veg - 1/2 your plate - examples include:

  1. Cucumbers

  2. Carrots

  3. Snap peas

  4. Beans

  5. Pickles

  6. Pickled beets

  7. Peppers

  8. Kohlrabi

  9. Mixed greens

Step 3: Pick Your Starch - 1/4 of your plate - examples include:

  1. Whole grain bread

  2. Ryvita crackers

  3. Hummus (bonus protein too)

  4. Brown rice crackers

  5. Popcorn

Step 4: Pick Your Healthy Fat - 1-2 Tbsp or as listed below - examples include:

  1. 1/4 avocado

  2. 1 Tbsp nut or seed butter

  3. Nuts or seeds

  4. Drizzle of healthy oil
