3 Sugar-Free Fertility-Friendly Recipes | Fertility Naturopath

Reducing sugar intake when trying to conceive is extremely important.

Even simply consuming sugar-sweetened beverages can reduce fertility outcomes (PMID: 29384791, PMID: 31901163). There is also an association of higher sugar intake and reduce sperm quality for men (PMID: 30109221).

I could go, but you get the point. Sugar intake has to be reduced.

Here are few great recipes to try out in order to help you out with this.

Sugar-Free Banana Muffins

Ingredients:

1 cup spelt flour

3 bananas, mashed

2 eggs

2 scoops collagen powder

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 cup sugar-free dark chocolate chips

Method:

  1. Line a muffin tin with parchment muffin liners.

  2. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

  3. Combine bananas, eggs, vanilla, olive oil and collagen powder. Then add in apple cider vinegar.

  4. In separate bowl combine spelt flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sea salt.

  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and combine well.

  6. Now add in the chocolate chips.

  7. Divide between your muffin tins.

  8. Bake for 17 minutes or until fluffy.

  9. Enjoy!

Trail Mix

Ingredients:

1/4 cup pumpkin seeds

1/4 cup sunflower seeds

1/4 cup walnuts

1/4 cup unsweetened dried cranberries

1/4 cup sugar-free dark chocolate chips

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Store in an air tight container.
