The greatest medicine of all is to teach people how not to need it.
— Hippocrates (attrib.)

Welcome! I'm Dr. Rachel.

My goal is to add more health and vitality to your world than you ever thought possible by giving you the necessary tools to start feeling better - now!

If Bill Nye the Science Guy and triathlete Rich Roll, had a love child with Michelle Obama - then I would be the result. Seriously!

That’s because I’m part total science nerd, part graceful dancer, part total, no-holds-barred health nut, and part quiet, powerful, and certain leader.

P.S. I actually am the child of New York Times best-selling author, Tosca Reno, aka. The Eat-Clean Lady - so living healthy flows naturally through my blood, but I’m not in this field just because of my momma. In fact, my love of health began at a young age - I had a triathlete dad who believed he never needed meds for anything. Got a headache? Go for a run, drink some water, stop complaining. So we did just that. And more. I was an active kid - between swimming, hiking, softball and running around the neighbourhood, but my true athletic abilities came out in dance. This was my activity of choice - I just loved how the body moved and flowed and worked, and how we could train and it nourish it to perform at its best. Of course, when you’re a dancer you’re either totally chill and creative or your totally Type A.

I’m the latter - Type A. I am super dedicated and I like to achieve, perform and succeed.

So of course I wanted to be a doctor and take my love of the human body to the scientific level.Things changed when I got to university and my hormones went wacky. I worked with my ND to figure out that yes, in fact, I would be able to have children. And, no, I didn’t have a “lazy ovary” at the age of 21. Enter my love for naturopathic medicine and my love of hormones. I LOOOOOVE hormones. Their complicated pathways, interactions and mechanisms totally make me tick.

I believe hormonal health is a continuum. It’s a journey that we’re all on - men and women alike, and we all need no-nonsense guides to lead us on the path.

I’m that no-nonsense guide. I am really good at weeding through the crap - and there’s a lot of it out there in the health world especially on the internet. This term from Katie Couric really resonates with me “TMI/NEU” - Too Much Information/Not Enough Understanding. Where do you go to clarify the information and get the understanding - me! I’m slightly cynical and always unconvinced until I’ve see the research to prove it - I’m a total trend buster.

I am known for taking the complex and confusing and make it simple.

So you don’t have to get confused by what the latest TV doctor is telling you you need to take now!

My promise to you is that I am dedicated to helping you achieve your health goals. I am trained to bring you the safest, best and most-appropriate tools. And I will give you my time, undivided attention and healing skills to help you tap into your healing abilities. I will certainly never pretend to have all of the answers, but my commitment is to give you the very best of me to help you.

Get ready to feel better - now!

Professional Bio:

While my life has had its fair share of variety, one clear thing has been the path leading me toward a career in Naturopathic Medicine - I'm part total science nerd and part no-holds-barred health nut. My passion for the human body led me to a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Western University in London, Ontario. During my undergraduate studies, and after my own healing experiences with naturopathic medicine, it became clear to me that becoming an ND was the right path.

I studied at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario. I am licensed through the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, and am a professional member of the Canadian and Ontario Associations of Naturopathic Doctors, as well as the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

As a holistic primary care practitioner, I recognize the importance of treating the individual with personalized, functional, and integrative medicine. I bring a toolbox full of skills with me to support and care for my patients, including additional training in Reiki, UNDA numbers, and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. With special interests in women’s health, sports medicine, endocrinology, digestion and autoimmune disease, I am passionate about empowering my patients and inspiring healthy change. I am also licensed to prescribe a small schedule of pharmaceuticals granted to naturopathic doctors, and I have recently completed my training in intravenous therapy so that I may soon offer this next level of care to my patients.

When I'm not seeing patients, I'm running triathlons, contributing to magazine articles (look for me in Clean Eating and Elle magazines), reviewing the latest clinic research for Integrated Healthcare Practitioners magazine, or making a giant mess in the kitchen whipping up the latest healthy desserts!
